Summary

Fruity is a digital styling service that promotes queer joy and expression through fashion. Made by and for queer people, the app pairs users with a fashion expert who is knowledgeable and empathetic to their needs. My collaborator Ha Tran and I created Fruity to address the lack of styling services that cater specifically to queer identities, and provide an affirming option for those left out of the mainstream fashion industry. Users can pair with stylists with a range of specialties, such as exploring gender expression, plus-size clothing, or non-Eurocentric fashion. Fruity also provides an online community where LGBTQ+ people can find inspiration and connections through photo posts, comments, and mood boards.
